Little Italy festival

On a lark (mostly), I skated down to Little Italy on Saturday for their annual festival. Wasn’t expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised; the street entertainers were funny, and I ended up at an interesting restaurant with good food. The music was good too. None of it was very Italian though, it was more of a street party that happened to be in Little Italy.

Busy streets.

Spanish musicians:

Pretty good music, I love the fast guitar plucking of Spanish music.
Busker:

This guy was pretty funny; the deal in this clip was the boy had to snatch the five-dollar bill from the entertainer’s shoe if one of the boxes that was being juggled touches the ground, keeping the bill.
Swing singer #1:

Swing band with a singer. She’s surprisingly good, I don’t remember my high school’s musicians being this good.
Swing singer #2:

Another swing song, another singer. She got into her song more with motions, it was interesting that it made the overall song experience more “felt”.

Drag ‘n drop in a web app

Just as I think that perhaps Google will stop knocking me over with amazing technical feats… The Google portal lets you drag and drop in your personalized homepage. Unlike Yahoo’s interface, where you click buttons and have to reload the page to move items around, Google’s portal lets you arrange them with your mouse on the webpage! I have no idea of how this is even possible!
